Wine Cork Board (tutorial)...

This 'Wine Cork Board' is a simple project to do on a rainy afternoon.

What you'll need:

- something to glue the corks to: you could use and old memory board, maybe a large picture frame or just a piece of ply wood. For this project I used an old memory board that needed some TLC.

-You'll also need an abundant supply of wine corks:
you're guna need to drink a lot of wine! or make friends with someone who does

-And of course you'll need a whole lot of hot glue and a hot glue gun!

*I lined my corks up first to see what the placement would look like first. I had a bigger amount of one type of corks so I used most of those first and then filled in the last spots with all different types of corks. You can design yours any way you'd like
( note: you made need to do some cutting to completely cover the board and fit cork into small awkward spaces)

After I got a good idea of what my board would look like I started gluing them to the board by just putting a line of hot glue on each and sticking them in place:

Once you've finished the first row, it's a good idea to also put glue in between each cork so that they're more secure.

Another note: Some of your corks may have a small bump on it from where a cork remover was used, it's a good idea to pick the cork out so that it will lay flat and make for a more neater finish:
You may have to do some creative corking to get the board completely covered. As you can see I made a different design on the right side of my board because I ran out of the same type of cork. When you're finished just hang and enjoy!
2 hours, 250 corks and a whole lot of glue later this was the end product:
Good Luck!

little pink elephant...

Vanna White (yes, wheel of fortune Vanna White) is apparently not just good for making letters appear on a screen. She has come out with some adorable crochet books that have great patterns. I picked up her animal amigurumi book and i'm in love with all of the animals in it. One of my favorites is the little stuffed elephant and since my sister is expecting her first baby, I have even more excuses to make them! Here's my pink elephant:
still need to add some eyes

This is a link to the pattern that I used: Elephant Pattern by Vanna White. The pattern is really simple and easy to follow.
This elephant only took me about 3 1/2 hours to make!

Getting this blog going...

I got the idea to start this blog when a book shelf I painted for my niece (below) got attention on pinterest. I noticed that a lot of people link their photos on pinterest onto their own blogs where they share their projects and crafts so I thought it would be fun to do the same.
Raegan's Shelf

I'm always trying different projects and working with different mediums. I've tried everything from sewing, crocheting, knitting to jewelry making and re-purposing items. Here's some of my jewelry:

A few of the rings I've made.

Bracelet.
Right now i'm working on my first re-purpose project! It's a 1940's storm window frame that i'm going to re-purpose into an organizational board. I'm going to do a separate post on this project so that I can share my first re-purposing experience. Thanks for checking out my blog!
Here's a link of the site that I found my inspiration for the window frame from: Window Ideas!

Hello...

Crafting, creating, designing and making is in my veins. My grandmother taught me nearly everything I know about sewing, crocheting, knitting, etc and i'd like to think that my great grandmother's creative genes have been passed onto me. I used to do a lot of arts and crafts when I was a kid, and recently my creative intuition has kicked up a notch. I started this blog as a way of sharing the things I make and hopefully selling some of my items! I also started this blog as a way of recording the things I make, kind of like a virtual scrapbook where I can look back at things I've done. I've recently tapped into a new outlet for creative energy by giving re-purposing a try. I've got a few projects in the works and i'm really excited to start posting my stories and pictures on here! So, I think that's all! Thanks for checking out my blog, be sure to check back in for more updates on new and finished projects!
